One of our intrinsic motives is Order. We all have it, more or less. Those with high need of order like for ex. to do time schedules and to plan. They also like to work in an environment where the procedures, processes and systems are in please, so they relatively easy can find the information they need to be able to work efficiently.

On the other hand, those who are low in order motive, are more flexible and agile. When there are changes at work, they adapt faster. There is nothing wrong in having high or low order motive, but one should understand to let colleagues work the way that suit them best. The more you succeed doing so, the more it will increase their motivation.

A motive does not only affect the way we work, it can also help us to choose a career direction. If a person for example is very high in order motive, he/she can most probably be good at creating routines and processes that work also for other people.

In private life orderly people also like to have their homes clean (from germs), not only tidy.
